A moral action must be our own action; it should emerge from our own determination. If we work mechanically, there is no moral value in our work. This act will be moral only if we consider it appropriate to work like a machine and act in the same manner. Because, while doing this we use our discretion. We should keep a distinction in our mind between working mechanically and working with intention. It may be moral for a king to grant pardon to a criminal. But the messenger who carries out the order of pardon plays only a mechanical role in this moral act of the king.
